    Last weekend I went to Takayama (about 5 hours north of Tokyo, just west of Sendai) with Steve and 20 guys I didn't know from KBF for a mens retreat. Good times.

    The whole area has a very West Coast Canadian feel - stunning scenery, loads of laid back surfers, and good coffee. The cabins at Takayama were built by Christian missionaries about 150 years ago as a place where the various, far flung missionaries in Japan could gather to reconnect with their peers.
